We are slaves of time, at it’s mercy, and feel that time is a force of nature to which we are helpless or powerless. Racing against time can be exhausting and for many people time does seem out of hand, especially when they feel that their dreams are slipping away. Step back. “Time is not a thing that passes … it’s the sea on which you float,” said a character in a novel by Margaret Atwood.
Fact is:
Those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize. Run in such a way that you may obtain it – prioritize. Everyone experiences pressures to get things done, climb that proverbial ladder and balance life with work. From an eternal perspective, time is very short. The urgent tasks always get attention first and the important gets shoved aside. Rethink your view of time, how you relate to it, and what is really important to you. Reposition tasks and engagements in a proper perspective – do what is important.
When you plan proactively there are less urgencies.
Then you can deal with the important stuff.
