Speculative fiction or science fiction writers have the challenge of painting future or imaginary places. The story will reveal the kind of world we do or don’t want to live in.
When writing Măjitópiă, I had the most impressive mentors. I was her Margaret Atwood’s protégé. It was a great honour to be amongst the best. Simply meeting this living breathing person was a great privilege and experience in itself – which went far beyond anything I had expected to learn. Margaret is not only knowledgeable, but interesting and funny. Under her mentorship, my writing skills were stretched in ways I had never anticipated.

VIDEO TRAILER OF Măjitópiă

Begin with an idea related to current society. Consider the cause and effect of the situation about to be introduced.
From there determine the winner/winner and losers.
Rules, there are rules in every society – determine what set of rules will be laid out.
Get a visual – clothing, environment, the world you want to be in, etc.
The story has to be believable and compelling.
