The Art of Writing is a subtle and important work of literary criticism that defines and demonstrates the principles of composition with rare insight and precision.
A good writer should choose the words skillfully, use them with care, and organize them for maximum impact. A good writer should not waste words. Each and every word written should have a specific purpose and should often be chosen over other similar words that would have served almost as well.
In my mind, writing is all about compiling a collection of words into sentences, paragraphs and chapters – then calling it a book.
